MY NEIGHBOUR IS BUILDING A PROJECT
(ADJOINING OWNER)
If your neighbour is going to start a project which affects the party wall (see building owners section for what work would be notifiable) they will need to notify you about the work.
Once your neighbour has given notice you can:
give consent in writing
refuse consent, which will start the dispute resolution process
serve a counter notice requesting additional works be done at the same time (they’ll have to pay for these if they benefit from the works)
You must let your neighbour know in writing within 14 days if you consent to the notice, and you must do the same with any counter notice. A counter notice must be served within a month of the first notice.

You can't stop their work but you can safeguard your property from damage.

We would be more than happy to offer our services as a surveyor if your consent is refused.
